Concrete block stand- mortar?
Hi guys
Planning my stands for 125g sump, 29 g cryptic fuge , 40b observation and couple frag tanks in my basement fishroom. Will be self leveling the floor and doing epoxy, so pretty flat. Decided on concrete block and unistrut for the stands, topped off with 3/4 plywood painted with marine paint. I’m stuck on whether or not I should use mortar or adhesive between the blocks to help stabilize, or if I’ll be ok doing without. Max height will be 3 blocks high, so 24 inches. I can push it a few more inches in height by doing 2x8 frame and ply on top instead of the unistrut. Any advice? Mortar/adhesive- yes/no? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

You don't really need it but it would be "better/stronger" with it

In that case, for the cost it’ll be, it’s cheap insurance to make it bombproof
