Hello Mike,

Thank you for asking!

Our RENEW Water Change System consists of three major components: a control module and two metering reservoirs. Operation is very simple... the user determines how many gallons he or she would like to exchange, then tells the system whether to perform the change as quickly as possible, over the course of a day, or over the course of a week, and simply presses the start button. The system then performs the water change. It is loaded with redundancy and monitors its own operation to make sure that it behaves as expected. There are three different versions of the RENEW, and each adds redundancy and features: the metering reservoirs ensure exact volumes of water are exchanged, and various level sensors with the different versions monitor the water levels to prevent run dry situations or overflows. If anything seems amiss the system will halt its own operation and alert the user to check things out - even telling where to look via the indicators on the control module. By the way, the control module keeps the user fully aware of the system's operation. It indicates how many gallons have been exchanged, how many it's set to exchange, the timeframe for the change, what stage it is in (fill, meter, dispense, or standby), and the states of the various level sensors.

The RENEW can be connected to existing drain plumbing to really make water changes painless - simply prepare and age the replacement water, hit the start button, walk away, and return later to an empty replacement water bin. It really is that easy. Alternately, the RENEW can dispense the waste water in a dedicated waste receptacle if there is not a drain nearby.

Please feel free to visit our website to learn more about the different versions of the RENEW - and please feel free to download the operating manual to get more details about how the system is set up and controlled.

Our STORM specialized top off system is designed to interact seamlessly with the RENEW system, and boasts a couple other unique features as well. The STORM recognizes when the RENEW is performing a water change and won't attempt to top off when the RENEW has removed water from the sump or aquarium - clearly salinity and water levels would be adversely affected if it did attempt to top off every time the RENEW removed water from the system. The STORM's top off duration (the time the pump is on) is adjustable to suit the user's preferences, and the pump can be manually controlled as desired by simply pressing a button. The STORM also has a unique "Min-to-Max" setup feature that allows the user to easily adjust the top off duration without any guesswork.

Additionally, the STORM can be expanded by adding the ROCv replenishment module to automatically refill the top off source bin. The ROCv can be purchased separately or is included in the STORM Pro - but it must be used in conjunction with the STORM since it is completely controlled by the STORM. Finally, if the ROCv is not going to be used with the STORM, a peripheral device like a powerhead or small heater can be plugged into the STORM's auxiliary outlet and easily turned on and off using the auxiliary outlet's controls.

Again, both the STORM and ROCv manuals are available for download on our website. Please feel free to browse through them to learn more about their setup and operation.

If you have any questions at all, please don't hesitate to contact us either by email, telephone, or through the forum! We look forward to speaking with you!

Best regards,
Kevin
