Since I'm pretty sure I'll be getting the peninsula tank; I figured I'd start working on its rockscape utilizing leftovers and rubble I had.
So far I have incorporated Tonga branch, shelf, pukani and reefsaver. All in all about 40 pieces I'd say. Spent all evening constructing. I'll have to cure it once it's set. Most likely in a 20 long. Some of my best work if I say so myself... lol! Especially given it's made out of scrap. |

Sump came in!
Just dropped a deposit on a 36x24x15 rimless peninsula and stand to be built. Decided to match the 24" width like everything else. 13 foot of tank in that room when all is said and done... lol! |

I'm jealous, so nice and clean. That thing looks ginormous and easy to clean. Are you going to have a fuge? I was gonna add a 24x24x12 to my office but I like the idea of the peninsula better. Problem with my 40 breeder peninsula is that it isn't wide enough to do good rockscape on both sides.

The fuge portion of the sump will strictly be utilized for my heaters. The sump is, like the reviews state, built extremely well. Night and day difference than the Eshopps. Only thing I see being an issue is the three 4" filter socks. I'd personally prefer 7", but I do gain more skimmer and fuge compartment size. I'm going to get the 26" version for the peninsula tank. I'm going to use the same lighting and mount system on the peninsula, but use the 18" rail -vs- the 12" all the other tanks have; so only using one 52 over the 36x24x15" given the overflow is 6" deep, "technically" I'll need to light ~29x23" given glass thickness. (AI claims a 36x36" effective spread on the 52) I know one over my 30x20x10 frag tank is doing a fantastic job. I even had to ramp it down 60% to avoid bleaching I was encountering. The rockscape I did is long and thin so there will be plenty of sand all the way around the perimeter for my chalices. Only have a few chunks of pukani, but my little Tunze 9001 skimmer is pulling out smelly crud like crazy just like last time I cured a brute full of it. I'm using a color contrast wheel for coral placement with this tank. Getting scientific... lol! |

Whites up to see a little more detail... Agian a combo of Tonga branch, shelf, Pukani and some BRS reefsaver rock.
Two main pieces. Separated at mid arch. Roughly 28x10" I'll run two MP's; one on each side of the overflow, paired anti-sync. Not sure if Planet will construct it out of 3/8" or 1/2" glass. Last edited by Joeb1983; 02/19/2017 at 10:30 PM. |

Used the ol tax return and placed an order with BRS for:
* Trigger Sapphire 26 sump: given it is 13" wide. (I will have ~22" width inside the peninsula's stand). * Trigger Sapphire 5 gal ATO reservoir: given its 6" wide, so it gives me some wiggle room with the sump; plus it matches... * Ecotech Vectra L1: To be used on the 10', three tank setup as I'm ditching the three Sicce's currently running UV, bio-pellets and carbon. Will be running a manifold with gate valves and I just dont think the M1 will cut it. (Will be moving it to the peninsula setup) Why I used individual pumps for each and every thing up until this point is beyond me... * AI tank mount & 18" rail in silver to match everything else. * 30 pounds of Pukani. I love the rock, but man is it some nasty ish when it comes in... (For the 24x24x15" twins) Along with some little odds and ends. At this point my "115 shallow build" thread has derailed into, well, I dont know what; but its obviously gotten out of hand. Lol! Can I change the title or do I need to start an entirely new thread? |

Wish I would get a tax refund. I had some pukani curing for a year. Broke it open this weekend and it was filled with mud. I had cleaned it with acid, bleach and powerwashed it.

Should have went to school and became an officer... My BAH and BAS are not taxable income, so it helps me look even more poorer than I am. Lol! Again, Pukani is the nastiest rock I've come across, but its light and porous. Didn't get to work on the tanks over the weekend. Ive been chasing a gremlin in my car that even with my tuning software, cant seem to find any conflicting data... I can hear my old man now; "a car is to get you from point A to B, save your $ Joe"... Haha! |

Cut, chisel, fit, epoxy and clamp.
Both cubes will be good to go once set. |

Lookin good. I never epoxied my rocks together for fear I'd have to disassemble to catch a fish or something. Probably not an issue on something small but did you glue the rocks in your big tank too? When I just stack them it limits some of the cooler things you can do with the rock.

When I ordered the Pukani for the big tanks rockscape, it didn't come in like it usually did and there wasn't many "choice pieces"; but I worked with what I had and it came out decent. The peninsula's scape is in two sections, but after doing the scapes for the cubes, I have more Pukani on the way and I can only hope it comes in like what I recently received... |

New addition to the big tank.
Been in my buddies LFS's display tank for over a year. I asked him to sell it to me for the past 6 months everytime I was in there. Offered him $150... Finally said yes. Eats EVERYTHING! |

Peninsula tank is estimated to be here in 3ish weeks.
Total is a lil less than $900 with the custom 36" stand. I'm really stoked for this tank. Going to be my choice chalice tank I'm thinking... |

Sorry, yes it is again another Plane tank/Coastal stand setup.
I am very satisfied with the build quality, thus the reason I continue to order tanks. If I had infinite $ and room I would design and have all sorts of custom Planet tanks. Cutting it close, but here will be the layout of the fish room complements of MS Paint. (I wish I had a floor drain!) |

Holy cow, all those tanks look like a lot of work. lol. All three of my tanks are in the fishroom right now and the living area is wide open. I can't afford the big tank yet so I'm contemplating something smaller.

Right now I have two QT's, one 18" cube, the big tank and the frag up and running that I'm managing. The idea is to break down the 18" cube, one of the QT's and possibly the frag tank, placing all frags throughout the four planet tanks in the fish room. At one point I had seven reef tanks up and running. Yes, SEVEN. I obviously have a problem... The back patio is littered with old tanks, sumps and stands, the spare bedroom is full of boxes of miscellaneous crap. You never get what you have into it, so I have the mentality to just keep it; might need it one day... That day hasn't come yet. Haha! My wife ALWAYS keeps me up to date on when bulk trash days are... Its basically organized chaos. |

My old 40 breeder is sitting on the patio still full of sand and dead, live rock. lol. Never fails, every time I throw something away I need it the very next day.

Seeing how this thread is no longer dedicated solely to the 72x24x15" as originally intended; I have created a new thread to cover what it has turned into:
