Move skimmer Pump?

I have a reef octopus 150INT. Can I move the pump to a different location, like under the skimmer to get it to fit better? This would require an elbow - would that restrict the flow too much or has anyone done this?

I think the only way to know for sure is to try it out and see. An elbow will more than likely cut down on flow somewhat but maybe not enough to affect the skimmer. Try it out and let us know if it affected anything
