Skimmer Repair Ideas

Ok, we have an hsa-2000 skimmer (http://www.marinetechnical.com/page7.html), the problem is the top part of both main tubes is missing (the critical beckett injector, see pic below). From my research it seems like I should be able to refabricate the missing parts.

The tank it will run on is a 600g display, 700g system. Will this skimmer be enough? Should I change the design at all? What pump should I get to power it? And what are the purposes of the diffuser plates I see in other beckett type skimmers? Any other ideas or suggestions?

Thanks!

Part we have:

the purpose of the diffuser plate is to increase / maximize contact time for the bubbles..

An iwaki 100 rlt would probably run it..

Well, you are missing the becketts, as well as the outer housing which encloses them, into with the air control valves are screwed. I would think that's more than just a little fabrication, though I have seen people do it with both fancy clear acrylic and ghetto large PVC Or just buy the part as in the link you provided.

How tall is that skimmer. I have two becketts on my skimmer, and even with added height, I'm not sure that would be enough for such a large system, though I am admittedly unfamiliar with this particular skimmer.
