Agreed about thier wood stand over priced, I really like thier new APS, check them out they are aluminum, pretty cool. yes they are $350. Will post pic once in. A few pages back will be good info about skimmers, and there where a few who did thier own dyi stands.
If you go IM, check out thier preformance packs. A lot of lfs aren't aware of them. look at ut at IM website in auto gadgets, |

SUBSCRIBED! And new owner of a Nuvo 40, I hope to be putting together this weekend. Ill start a build thread as well but Ill be kind of cheating as I add some elements from a pre-existing 29g tank... Wish me luck, so excited to build an aquascape tomorrow that Im satisfied with.

Here are some more pictures. Tank is almost 4 months old now and I think about to really hit its stride.

Pnorris11, Tank is looking great. Still see the lemon peel doing well and causing no issues with coral.

My heater is too long to fit in sump, any suggestions? Im assuming there'a better heater that will fit in one of the chambers then my current set up?

Pnoriss11; what is that white thing a top left of your tank? Are you using the wifi mp10's? How are you liking the flow in your tank?

Thanks AZ, the lemonpeel has been great. He will eat LPS but he is fine with SPS.
The white thing is a mag float to clean the glass. I love the MP-10s and I alternate between reefcrest, wave mode, and gyre throughout the day. More flow than I would ever need, but the controllability allows you to make the flow patterns random and changing. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Would it fit in one of the side chambers? The middle can get pretty congested with pumps, heaters, probes, ATO etc.
Personsally I would recommend the Tunze 9004. It fits really well and skims great consistent skimmate for me. I find I can fit all the purigen, GFO, and extras I would want in one custom caddy. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Hey guys, I have had my Nuvo 40 setup running for just over a month now. The setup came with 2 mid sized minimax reactor, 1 small minimax and 1 custom caddy.
I just started trying to dial in biopellets in 1 of the mid sized reactors in the far left chamber (chamber 5) with the ghost skimmer on chamber 4. Any recommendations on what to use the other mid sized minimax for? I'm thinking GFO or carbon. The custom caddy is on the first chamber right now with just filter floss and a bag of purigen. Would you recommend using the custom caddy over the small minimax? Depending on what I'm running on the second reactor, I could possibly run carbon or gfo in the middle of the caddy. Any recommendation is greatly appreciated! P.S any tips on reducing micro bubbles? Not seeing a crazy amount but would like to see less if possible. |

Anyone running there 40 skimmerless. If so how is the tank doing. I downgraded from a 75. Was tired of maintenance mainly the build up of calcium in my bubble kings Venturi and motor propeller. Had to take skimmer apart every few weeks to remove. Now I'm having same issues with tunze 9004. Not sure what causes this. Thinking of jus getting rid of skimmer all together

dinalx I would use GFO in your extra reactor. Have you thought about turning custom caddy into a mini refug? There are few on here that have, I am too. IM sells a nice magnet lite designed for it.
Greaser9999, I've heard the same things about goast skimmer, glad to hear from some first hand use. |

Owners Thread: Innovative Marine Fusion 40
I'm about ready to toss my IM Ghost skimmer. The micro bubbles are really ****ing me off!!!
As for the refuge... the last batch of chaeto died for some unknown reason. I'm back to using one stock filter sock. I also swapped out my gfo for some of Dr. Tim's pearls. Got them in the reactor for 2 weeks. I'll let you know how they work out. Last edited by taat2d; 07/02/2017 at 03:06 PM. |

Not sure what to say about the bubbles. I never saw many to begin with. They disappeared after a couple days. I'm running the air valve wide open too. Maybe the pump isn't seated in the port underneath well enough. If pull it and check on the connections. Sent from my SM-G930P using Tapatalk
