Added a few more pieces. Lokani 30,000. Slowly coming together. I have some more pieces coming that are healing after the cut.

well my luck has ran out....for 3 years I have had 3 clownfish in this tank and my previous setup. 2 black percs and an orange one. The orange was always bigger but they got along. All hosted my return line nothing more than the little bit of aggression showing hierarchy. Yesterday I noticed the orange one picking a little more than normal on one of the black ones. Well tonight, I come home and see a black one beat up pretty good. I scoop him out and put him in my sump hoping he can recover there.
I figured it was only a matter of time before my 3 HAD to become 2. But after some years I almost thought it might work.

Yeah. He didn't make it either, very saddening. I was pressing my luck but was scared to add a new clown fish with hopes they would pair off. I figured a new one would only add to aggression. I wish they would now find their anemone and hang out there.
Tank is doing good, had a bad dip in alk down to 6.5 area but slowly worked it back up and things are looking better. I have about 12 more SPS pieces almost ready to go in the tank soon.
And a few more fish.

Seen these in the tank tonight, they look like slugs of some sort and they move fairly quickly. Any ideas?

Then saw this green yellowish aid on the underside of a rock, looking for ID on it to. https://goo.gl/photos/SfcAEa1W9GrgQkQV9

Got about 12 SPS frags coming soon as well.

its a really great fixture. I decided to make my system smaller to make things easier for me with maintenance.

Coals are all doing well. Great PE on some and others have little to none. Any input on the difference. What causes pe in them and why would some have it and not others.

We had our local swap is weekend and I picked up a few pieces and a clam also redid my sump, removed all the rock that was in it. Cleaned out any debris I had in there and now it only houses equiptmnent and is much easier to get to. I am having a custom sock drawer built which will take up less space and make changing socks easier.

Few new pieces plus my dog in her costume.
Checked water today ąs follows
Po4 0
Nitrate 7-10
Calcium 480
Alk 9.9
Mag 1150 (raising it slowly)
Nitrates been holding around there, which isn't bad but I'd like a little lower. I might take my gfo offline, I have been reading that to lower some nitrates you need a little po4. I'm hoping to start to get some growth soon.
So I do have a question regarding my calcium reactor though, my demand is still low but it's increasing. So I'm keeping it online and I have my numbers set to kick on at 7.00 and off when it gets to 6.95. It's been holding right around 7, but the reactor kicks off/on periodically throughout the day. How often do you guys have your reactor kicking on and off?

Corey

Well tonight I epoxied a few frags down and added some more media to my reactor including remag. I have struggled to keep my mag up high enough. It's been dipping pretty low, so hopefully this will help keep it up. Not needing to dose it manually, just using my calcium reactor to help it.

Mag is finally up to about 1250. Still a little on he low side, but I will get it there. Alk is holding steady between 8.6-8.9 lately and I'm happy with that range. Few corals have started to lay a base down and I hope they start to grow upwards soon.
Need to learn how to use this canon camera and get some good pictures up.

I felt like the biggest payoffs were Getting white balance correct then Having a 1:1 Macro lens available to use myself.

my first few dumps of photos were with shutter priority set (Av) and then tweaking the white balance in software. I shot 50-100 shots in 20 minutes and used 3-5. I think my last set I shot 15 and used 5 so slowly getting a little better.
