macro algae ID's and skimmer question(pics)

Hey everybody,

My tank has been running around 6months or longer. I've been planning to upgrade my standard marineland filter with a CPR Bak-Pak 2. Does anyone here use the bak-pak two on a smaller reef tank?

22 cube
150 watt 14k metal halide 8hrs a day
marineland 280 carbon
smaller zoo med powersweep
--------------------------------------------------
1 royal gramma
2 green banded gobies
--------------------------------------------------
nitrates 0
nitrites 0
temp 80f
ammonia 0
alk ~ 200(need a better test kit)
pH 8.4
Calcium 450ppm

Now for the algae. I first noticed a couple spots of this purple stuff and left it because it's relatively easy to pull off the rocks and also it's pretty. Now, it has a decent stronghold and I need to get it in line better than I have. I pull it off when I do water changes. I do 25% every month and sometimes I'll do half that every two weeks.

I'm thinking some sort of gracilia. My tank is high flow(~400gph), high light, and higher nutrients. The bak-pak will take care of it for the most part hopefully. Anybody else deal with this stuff?

The other algae that I have is very cool. I'm not for sure what it is but it's a slow grower and I just love the color and form.

Sorry for the crappy iphone pictures. I'll get batteries for my camera one of these days.

Thanks for looking!
