DIY in sump Algae Scrubber

So today I decided to change my sump. I have been reading about the benefits of an algae scrubber. I used the return from my reactor to push water into a pvc rectangle that sits on the ledges of my sump. It then acts like a water wand and disperses water onto plastic sheeting. Hopefully this creates an algae sheet to further clean up my water.

Unlikely that light will be sufficient as currently mounted for all that screen real estate .
High five for the effort though..

Also that screen needs to be roughed up. The screen is so slick that alage wont adhere to it.

Thank you both for the feedback. I do have an LED grow light on the way from Amazon. I’m going to take the screens off today and give them a rough sand.

Us a hole drill bit, lay flat on a board and twist with the bit. Sand paper won’t give you a rough enough surface.

+1
The screen needs to look almost "fuzzy".

I scored it up like you all said. I’m still waiting for my grow light to come in...
