SPS corals being nipped by blue tang???
A couple of days ago I noticed that my 4" blue tang is nipping on my sps corals. What causes that behavior? I feed my fish, including the tang, twice a day with different types of food (also using dry algae for my angel dwarf and the tang). My h20 parameters are 0 ammonia, 0 nitrites, 10 nitrates, S.G. 1.023. Water changes are performed every week and a half 15 gallons for a 55 gallons tank. Thanks for any help.

I am pretty sure that my powder blue tang occasionally bites small chunks of the tips of some of my acros. One time I saw him do it out of the corner of my eye, he bit and than spit it out. I was quite surprised, I have never herd of anything like that before!

Sometimes even "reef safe" fish will nibble on a piece of coral. Its just how it is. If he is causing to much damage you may want to consider removing him from the tank.
