Live Rock n Reef Live Rock??
Does anyone have experience with Cherry Primo Decorator rock from Live Rock n Reef at https://www.liverocknreef.com/index...._detail&p=7920 I had been waiting for LivestockUSA.org to finally get some Pacific rock in (see http://www.livestockusa.org/UPDATES.html) but don't know how much longer I want to wait. I prefer porous/elongated shapes to the basketball shaped rock I see from a lot of the Gulf or Atlantic mariculture providers.
Thanks

I would recommend looking up some Yelp and other reviews online. While I didn't run through a search on RC, I do remember several threads describing questionable customer service.
One other thing to consider is that in general, there is no Pacific live rock to be had anywhere in the U.S. unless it's from a customer's tank breakdown, or it's been setting a store's backroom L.R. tank for at least 8 months. It does appear that Walt Smith's operation in Fiji will be allowed to resume exports of the aquacultured artificial rock that they make, but no natural live rock. |

You could try and contact KP Aquatics to see if they could get certain sizes for you?

I have used it and love the rock, full of life. I think it's the best live rock I have used to date and recommend them highly. Bill was more then helpful when I placed my order. I would order again and will if I need good rock.

I drove out to Ohio (350 miles) in November and got about 100 lbs of cured real Pacific LR from Aquatic Technology http://www.aquatictech.com/livestock.html that they still had in their curing vats. I got about the last of the decent stuff they had in terms of size/shape, though it wasn't well colonized with anything more than coralline and a lot of algae (still trying to get rid of it.....).
Ultimately, not realizing that it was the Walt Smith fabricated stuff when I bought it, I ordered a couple boxes of the Fiji stuff from Livestock USA, to build in around the real rock. To be honest, although it's sprouting a LOT of coralline, I'm not really impressed at all -- particularly given what it cost. The pieces look too much like cow pies, and they are too similar to each other in shape. Perhaps the Cherry Primo would have been a better choice, based on the favorable reviews here......

If you go the Live Rock n Reef route, I'd love to see pics and know your experiences.
I'm starting up a new system that will have 100% real live rock this time around, and I've narrowed it down to either TBS or KP, pretty much dismissing LRnR. I've seen less than 50/50 reviews on LrnR, but TBS & KP are excellent suppliers.
