I was trying to trim the corals which reach the surface. By doing so breaking off a "small" frag.
I don't even see the difference on the mothercoral

Your tank looks good. I have been following for a while.

Would you share what lighting you are using?

Thanks,

Dean

Glenn,

Your EZ550 Reef looks fantastic. It appears that it is mostly T5's. Are you having better results with the T5's than LED's? What are your expectations going forward. Are you moving forward with more LED's?

I have a 120 Gallon tank I am setting up and don't want to waste a bunch of money, time and loss of corals. I plan on mostly LPS corals. It is a 60" Long, 17" front to back and 30" deep. I haven't bought the lights yet.

Any guidance would be greatly appreciated.

Dean

Thanks m8.

When you plan to keep only LPS, full led will do just fine.

IMO to keep a healthy variaty acropora's you will need some T5 support. I haven't seen a full SPS tank with many species of acro's to my liking yet.
Growth is O.K. and topview is fine. But most colors seen from the side are plain dull and washed out.

Sustainable reefkeeping!

When corals grows like weed in our homes, we must be doing something right.
These frags may one day be our main source of sustainable corals.

I’m guessing you’ve posted this somewhere but I can’t seem to find it. My apologies for the redundancy but if you don’t run skimmers or change water, can you share what you’re dosing and how you’re eliminating nitrates and phosphates?
