90 gallons. 40 gallon sump. With displacement of space though I only really added around 90 gallons total between the two. Ya that was my 1st try with getting out of the stack of rocks in a tank. Really just wanted something different, and I must say it turned out pretty awsome.

Very cool build... but what does it have to do with bonsai?

I think you are looking more for a wabi-sabi esthetic Bonsai is an art form involving trees and pots.

you'll have to wait and see. Its the end result were describing. The structures are designed to give the bonsai look after they are filled with corals. And then they wont be a tree persea but deffinitly a trained and shaped growth with a tree look

Had left over vanier from cutting front and side panels so I cut pieces to fit trim and match the stand and add it later but didn't like how it looked as all one piece so decided to spray paint it black. Should've done that when it was in the garage empty. A lot of paper and trash bags. Looks a lot better though. I didn't paint the back because I have an idea to try out.

thanks yo ya unique is what I was going for-different. There are a few other lil things that help the system stand out a bit as well. Wooden magenet attached panels for stand, velcro'd background fabric for different looks and changes. Have it in black, blue, white, and silver so far. As you can tell I like options and I wanted to keep accessability to veiwing the back since I can get behind the tank, etc.
