Thanks. Downloaded the software but figuring out how to set up is very difficult. Or maybe I am just not very smart and hubby can't figure out either : (

It's not too bad once you get the hang of it. I would just load the default program, (file, load) and play from there.
This is what my program looks like currently.

I am interested in this fixture for my tank, and had a couple of questions though for those with experience. My tank is 84 inches long, so a 60 inch would probably be too short? One end is exposed too, so I want the end lit well. Would I have to get a 3 ft and 4 ft unit? Also I don't have much clearance above the tank, so they would be close to the top of the tank. Thanks for the input.

I would consider 2 x 36" spaced like 3-6" apart. Thats a tough one. They also recommend a min of 8" above the tank. I would contact David@reefgeek and see what he recommends.

Thanks for the advice, I contacted him today. He thinks that the 4 bulb fixtures will be enough since the tank has a 24 inch depth. After talking with him the best combination may be a 48 inch fixture, and a 24 inch fixture (pricing would be better than two 36 inches possibly). I also think that replacing 8 bulbs at a time sounds much better than 16. So when talking about watts, that just means the amount of energy to run the bulb right? So a larger bulb needs more watts to put out the same light as a shorter bulb? I guess the question is that I will have the same colors even though the bulbs have different watts for each fixture?

Why don't they make 6 bulb hybrids? Seems to me the 6 bulb would be more popular than the 8 bulb....

I am seeking input about bulb combination for a 4 bulb fixture. I have litttle experience with t5 bulbs, and no led experience. I am 95% sure that I am going to order the 48 inch and 24 inch fixtures next week. After talking with David at reefgeek he gave two bulb options: 3 blue + and 1 purple + this will give around a 20k look. Other option is 2 blue + and 2 coral + for 14 - 16 k look. I am leaning towards the second option - 2b+ and 2c+ and then I use the LEDs to make a bluer look if needed, but I am wondering what bulb combination you would go with.

Mine keeps the time and program. Inside the controller I pretty sure there is a battery, might be bad/dead? I opened mine when I got it because the display was falling out.

I finally sat down and set up my initial light parameters on my 90g tank. I have the 48 inch 4 bulb, 3led unit. I used the preset as a start and then lowered the led down to 20% with the intention of titrating up over the next month or two. It took a little time to figure out the program, but making adjustments and then running the day cycle to see if it looked was helpful. Will report back as I play around more with it...

Mark

Having same problem here. You would think with lights so expensive, they would include instructions on software management.

The software was a bit intimidating at first, but once you start manipulating it, it's very intuitive. My only issue, and wondering if anyone else has this issue, my LEDS will flash brightly during the transition to day brightness.

Also, on the product description it talks about cloud sweeps, thunderstorms, and moon cycles is there a preset for this? My guess was you'd need to change the time interval and just manually move the leds from bright to low--seems pretty tedious. It would be great to see a preset that you could just layer over certain times or put on random.

And last, once you get used to having wireless control of your equipment with the APEX, it is a little disappointing you can't control the light this way.
Other than the wish list, the light is amazing and the software--once you are used to it--works great. My tank is newly setup and only has fish in it currently so I cant speak to coral reaction/growth.

So why doesn't ATI make an iPad app interface for this, seems like that would be a much better option then having to cable a computer to your light every time you want to make a change. An AI Director type setup should be easy enough, just saying for the cost of the fixture they should have an option like this.

60" model

I'm buying the 60" 8 bulb if it ever becomes available here in the U.S.

Anyone have insight on release date?

I can't see this photo...it says you need more bandwidth Rodneyri! Anyone have a different link? Seeing as I can't see the photo, I'm not sure if it says or not...but which model is the fixture?

Rodneyri - I have the same light but 24". Running 5+, 2 ABS and a P+. I'm having a hard time finding the right combo between LED and T5. I just ordered 2 C+, 1 P+, 1 KZ new gen and 1 GE 6500. I'm hoping with all this I can find a sweet spot. What are you running or plan to run?
