Cor20 or Varios 8
Just looking for some help on deciding on which return pump to go with. I am running a 150G tank with trigger 39sump, I do have a apex so that’s why I’m leaning towards the cor20 but the varios8 does have produce 2700gph as opposed to the 2000 thr Cor produces. Thanks for any advise

I read torn between the same pumps and ultimately went with the varios 8. With a 150, either would work well for you. I went with the varios as it seems to have a better reputation as it has been around longer.

As much as I like my Apex controller, I’m not a fan of the peripherals. Reported problems with WAVs no longer working just past the one year mark and CORs quitting after a few weeks of use (promptly replaced under warranty) leave me uneasy. I recently picked up a DOS and it very much has a toy like feel to it... I’m not impressed. I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, I’m not a fan of the proprietary ecosystem approach to reefing. I say go with the VarioS as it has a decent and longer track record.

For what it's worth, I have no interest in running my return pump on my apex. If something happens with the apex, I'll still have flow from the return.
