Score and Snap

Has anyone tried to score and snap glass thicker than 1/4 inch? If so, how succesful was it?

I built my overflow and external box out of the ~3/8 glass from a 75. Scored and tapped, since after trying to snap one piece i chickened out with the amount of force it was taking and nothing happening. But i was making long and narrow pieces so it may have been just to put force in and it would eventually work.

I have found it doesn’t work well with anything above 1/4”. I install a lot of tile so I have a 10” wetsaw. I put a glass cutting blade on it & that works really well. I know most people don’t have one but if u may know someone that will let u borrow it for a day then that is the easiest way.

I've done both 6mm 1/4" and 8mm 15/16" (40B bottom panel) with cheap glass pliers.
