Talking Web cam up and running!

Well, gang, it's finally working!

Before I give you the link to the school aquarium web cam, here's a few instructions:

1) When you first go to the page, you will see an image that is updated every three seconds. Beneath it is the current stats from the AC3.

2) If you click on the 'Login' tab at the top of the page, you can use the following username/password:

Username: rcuser
Password: aquarium

NOTE: Only one person can log in at a time using that username. If it's not working, that means someone else is on and you'll have to try again later. (I've set up a 5 minute time limit for guest logins.)

Click on the 'Single' tab at the top of the page.

You can select 8 of the preset camera positions from the buttons on the left, or use the preset dropdown menu to see the entire list.

MH goes off at 4:30 PM; Powerbrites are on until around 9:30.

Have fun!!

Oh now that is just too cool! Looks great Scott! Love being able to see that Tenentti tang more often.

Mind sharing what software you're doing that with? I'm assuming it's running on a local PC or something?

Actually, it's an IP camera, and doesn't require a PC as it has in internal server.

Here's a link to the actual camera I'm using:
http://www2.panasonic.com/consumer-e...00000000005702

It's basically plug and play. I'd like to figure out how to embed the image on another web page, but that's a fight for a different day!

He's a big boy, and growing fast!

If I had to guess, I'd say he's pushing 7-8" from his lips to the end of his streamers. He's about doubled in size since I got him last fall. I'll bust out the ruler to confirm.

I'm really digging the peace of mind that this provides when I'm not there to watch things. I also like the security factor. It has a motion detection feature that turns on the camera whenever someone enters the room in the evenings and on the weekends, and records everything. I can view and download the recordings from any computer with internet access.

It was pricey, but well worth it. Best part is that it's on Toyota's dime, rather than the taxpayers.

Be sure to check out the cool egg-tending behavior of the Clarkii clownfish using the 'Anemone' preset. The eggs are at the base of the 'nem on the right-hand side.

I love this!
