On day 8 of treatment, it looked really good in qt. I decided to put it in the display tank.
It had attached but I'm a bit concerned about the open mouth. Hopefully it's just acclimating and will be closed tmrw. Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk |

Still looks ok to me. I'm sure it will look good by the end of the day.

Ok, I probably panicked for nothing, as the above pic was taken when lights were not on yet!
Looking much better now that lights are on. Here's hoping that it lives happily ever after Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk |

Excellent job. The nem looks great. Nice looking clown too. And the tank looks nice as well. :-)

Amazing find, I've been searching for that exact coloration for years. Saw that color combination while diving in Thailand this spring

Thank you! It seemed to respond really well to cipro. A miracle drug indeed. Hi, Mona, hope your enchanted garden tank is doing well as well! Would love to see an update on your thread! Sent from my SM-G386T using Tapatalk |

Ugh, seeing this thread makes me sad. Things were going super well for a couple months. Nicest ritteri I've ever seen. Then, I went to the bay area to visit the parents for a couple weeks, and yup, you guessed it: it died. Exactly how, im still baffled bc my other other ritteri, other gig, as well as entire tank was fine. (Also have lots of sps, acros in there). When I came back, it was still in the dt, deflated and with a loose mouth. I quickly put it into cipro treatment, but it was too late.
My husband who was tank sitting for me, knows nothing about nems and was offering to ship it up to my parents house so I could take care of it. My parents house doesnt have anything reef related! The idea seemed preposterous at the time but in retrospect, I should've tried! Vacations are so stressful when you have a reef Sent from my SM-J327T using Tapatalk |

I am sorry to hear the bad news, Jamie. If you ever run into a similar situation (I hope not, but things inevitably happen) you're welcome to borrow a QT tank and any supplies that you need while you're up in the Bay Area. I always have clean QT tanks (with heater, pump, etc.) at the ready. That also means that if you see anything at a LFS but still have a few days (or weeks, LOL) left in your vacation, feel to swing by to pick up what you need to hold the livestock.
The best investment I've made -- aside from an Apex -- was my HD webcam. I use it whenever I'm on vacation. Of course, it doesn't prevent accidents, but it does provide some stress relief because I can see my tanks.

so sorry to hear that! That was such an amazing anemone, and at $50! I don't even understand how your LFS makes money, they can cost more than that wholesale! Hopefully you'll come across another one as beautiful as that one, that's the unfortunate thing about mags, the first 6 months can be rocky.

Wow. I’ve had every store in my area on the lookout for one that looks like that one since this thread popped up. No luck for me so far. Sorry it didn’t make it.

I guess that's the benefit of being in SoCal! You're right where everything comes in to the country. |
