Awesome FTS Dennis! While I really enjoy your macro shots there is something about having some context that I enjoy more... (I guess I really like looking at tanks full of coral more than just coral)

I just dumped my Radions too, I could never run them over 50%. I did like them and I think you are right, I think would have needed twice or more as many to get the coverage that I am getting with my new ATI.

I've been following your thread for a long time, don't think I've posted here before though... doing so now to subscribe!

Looking great as always Dennis!

Just wondering if you have reconsidered the Gyre yet? They are getting so many good reviews. I have mine running now. Dead silent and even with the stock controller (advanced one to come) it has lots of options for flow. What I particularly like is you can have one side of the flow going up and the other down. Each side is independent.

Thanks, Shaggss.

My gyre is still running since I dropped it in over Xmas.
Haven't removed it to clean it yet. Too scared. haha
Might just do a vinegar soak and brush it off.
I'm still meh on it. Same feelings. The flow is real nice but not sure how to feel on the build quality. Would like it to hook up to my profilux so hoping the controller will support that, or vice-versa. Needs the battery backup too.

So the controller they're releasing is a third party control (Icecap brand) which allows for connection to pretty much any controller with 12v DC connections (i.e. the VDM on the Apex - I'm sure Profilux has something similar). I don't think it can run it in reverse, but I may be wrong. I'm not sure it can change the period of the pulse, either. So it's really just controlling the strength from what I've seen. It will have a battery backup capability though and you need one control per gyre.

It seems more like a stop gap than anything.

However, there is a true advanced controller coming out in 4Q probably, which hasn't been detailed yet. I'm hoping it is more full featured, but we'll see.

Hmmmm... still not very impressed then if that's the case.
I would want full control, like you get with the Vortech module or my Tunze.

Floralux question: Apologies if this answer is in here somewhere; Did you find the spectrum of the 150 watt standard and Agromax (30% more blue) bulbs for your fixture?

Also, how happy are you with that fixture?

Great work btw.

Adam

I really like this fixture just for the fact that it's growing the cheato at an astounding rate.
I stuck with the standard bulb that comes with it and seems to have a kelvin rating somewhere around 2400k. Very yellow/orange.

I did a quick video tour of the fish room.
Figured it might be a little easier to see/understand than the random photos I've posted.
Check it out and let me know if you have any questions.
I ran through it kinda quick.

Ya, I've had a spotted rabbitfish in my frag tank for algae control for a long time now and was thinking of moving him into the main display... until i came across these guys. Had to find one.

How come it appears that your emergency drain is shut off at the ball valve?

Wow, I guess I am learning something hanging around this joint! (I've had a tank for 2 months, and it's an AIO biocube, no valves at all)
