The Engineer Goby is disease resistant. They eat a carnivorous diet consisting of frozen meaty foods and may sometimes they will nibble on small fish and invertebrates. They like to make caves so you need to make sure your rocks are stable. When I feed my tank he only sticks out his head but doesn't come out completely. They are really shy if they see you they go back into the cave fast. Mine has never been aggressive to any fish so far.

I really like my pair. only see them at feeding if I stay really still. They love their caves, so I built a cave along the glass so I could see into it. definitely make sure the rockwork is supported, not just sitting on the sand. My one rock of Zoos that isn't supported on PVC keeps getting buried and needs to be rescued.
Have caught them out in the open a few times in the early morning before the lights come on full. might have been a mating thing, but no spawn came of it. |
