Moving live animal transport - need opinions/ experience quick

Hi, I am moving 3.5 hours away from my current home. In my new location I have several tank with lr and water cycling for the past 3 months. I have 190g packed with fish (15), soft coral like shrooms and anemones (10). I'm moving the fish tomorrow and I can't decide on bagging with ice chest from pet stores( have bags and chests already) or 5g buckets with aerator bubblers. I can pack 9 5g buckets without stacking.

Only three hours or so, I'd go with buckets and bubblers.
I did the same thing with a four hour trip a couple weeks ago and was fine.

Thanks, the actual drive is 3.5, it may take me 1-2 to catch everything them 30 mins acclimate. So, probably still in your range at about 6-7 hours. I'm going to bring an extra 30 g of old water to add to the cycling water to aide with ph ect.

Sounds like you have a plan. I wouldn't transport a single drop of water that isn't needed for the livestock. There is nothing in it that will do the new system any good at all.

I agree with this, and in fact, I wouldn't add any of the water from the buckets that you transport the livestock in either. There will probably be some ammonia buildup that's not worth introducing to the new system. Instead I'd just acclimate the fish like you would for a new fish and transfer them without any water.
