High silicate and coral
Hello,
Can high Silicates (476 µg/l) kill corals? I know it’s effect with Diatom algae but was more concerned about these high levels killing coral. Thanks |

No it doesnt mine is 6.303ppm which is 6303, full blown sps tank and everything is growing well. I do deal with diatoms. Siporax media is full of silica which is where mine is coming from. Phosban does absorb silica in addition to phospates. Mine was even higher 6 months ago at 16580.

The ocean can range up to 2.7 ppm:
