Time to experiment

I'm local (Riverview) and have a 46 gallon bowfront aquarium. A friend of mine was moving to Hawaii and couldn't take it with him. It came with some standard fish tank gravel, fake plants, and various decorations. Fish included a yellow tailed blue damsel and a clown fish.

I've had the tank running for a year now. Everything is stable, but the clown fish recently passed. It had been getting tired for the last month. Anyway, I'm ready to change out the standard tank gravel and decorations for sand and live rock!

My questions:

1) Is this tank too small to really attempt corals?
2) The tank is very stable with good levels. Can I just replace or do I have to start over?
3) How much sand/rock should I put in there?

I've read so many positive reviews about TBS! I'm excited to get started, but cautious at the same time. Any advice you can give would be greatly appreciated!

As long as you replace a little at a time you should be ok. Adding a sump with some live rock never hurts either. Oops sorry, didn't catch the TBS forum thing.

That's fine alb_56. I'm always open to suggestions to anyone/everyone. I just posted here because that is where I plan to make my purchase! I don't have a lot of room for a sump setup

I can tell by all the testimonials here. Sounds like half the fun is seeing what kind of "extras" you find hiding
