Sorry, not the clearest pic, just a cell phone shot before lights on the other morning.
This is my basket star that came in with my TBS order over a year ago.
Still on the same Gorgonian and still growing.

Have you seen the new REGAL Reef Octo protein skimmers with a Float switch installed and there new Reef Octo VarioS DC Controllable pumps.. I have been in this hobby for over 20 years and I have never had a skimmer and pump run so smooth! In my opinion, it's one of the best skimmers on the market!

Agreed - great bit of kit for the money. I have the regal 200 and it’s a beast!

No, I have no reason to look at other skimmers.

By the way, I put a swabbie and a Davy Jones locker on my skimmer and am super happy

On a LR? Neck isn't too narrow?

Here's my thing on skimmers... I'm not saying LR skimmers are the be all end all. Any skimmer that works for you is a good skimmer. I like my LR for a bunch or reasons I stated a million times before and at the end of the day it skims just fine. I always have issues with nitrate being too low. And what's the percentage of DOC's removed by a skimmer? 20% max? So really... if X skimmer skims 10% better than Y skimmer (if you can even measure "better"), it's not making any quantifiable difference IMO. So in the end, I'm perfectly happy with LR skimmers with zero complaints about them, which gives me zero reason to look at other skimmers, or even tweak my LR. Not until something so revolutionary comes to market that makes all current skimmers obsolete. So as they say in the Shark Tank... for those reasons... I'm out.

Nope, the micro fits just fine. I even had to trim the rubber a tiny bit. Jeff makes it an easy install with the Center divot he makes in the lid. Just drill a hole and glue it on. Easy.

Adds quite a bit of height but nice to see it works.

Back burner though... I think this is going to be my next purchase.

I have one of those too. Great little pump.

The height isn’t a big deal so far for me. Adds like 3” maybe? Removing the cup isn’t any more complicated other than unplugging the swabbie

Will that replace your AWC pump? Looks like a beast. I just finally hooked up my Litermeter3 and I have to say I'm super happy with it. Its been rock solid and its moving water from my basement up to the display without any issues.

Love that float switch. Not much worse than having a sudden surge of wet skimmate overflow that crap into your sump.

Exactly! That's why I don't sweat the occasional overflow.

Nice, that thing is a Monster! For my AWC's I use a GHL MaxiSA Doser to transfer my NSW water from my saltwater mixing station to my display.
I have there ProfiLux4 Controller as well and could not be more happier!! ! [ATTACH]
