Algae help please!
HI,
I'm dealing with a serious algae bloom and I know that one way to get it under control is to cut back the lighting. If so, how much could I cut it back for without hurting the corals? Could I get away with 3 days of no light? (just the ambient light in the house)/ thanks |

Trying to slow the algae with less light is not going to work very well unless you're running fowlr. Corals need light !. the best way to slow algae growth is to lower nutrients in the water (NO3/PO4). do some research on carbon dosing and gfo. More animals that eat the algae will also help a lot (snails/crabs/tangs/blenny's etc.)
