Old Bulbs Cause Cyano

Can old PC Bulbs cause cyano if so how does it?

Dont think about the money that goes into your tank it makes reefing a lot easier ;)

Current Tank Info: 55 Gallon Mixed reef, Current Dual Satellite Series Lighting, AquaC Remora Skimmer, Fluval 305 filter

Yes- as they wear out, the color spectrum shifts to the range ideal for those kinds of problems.

i agree the spectrum turns more towards yellow

correct me if I'm wrong Isent cyano a bactira witch shows up in areas with little or no water flow

IMO, they don't directly cause the issue. The only time old PC bulbs will effect Cyano is there are already excess nutrients in the tank, if there isn't then you won't get Cyano just because your bulbs are old.

The PC bulbs over one of my fuge were over 2 years old when I got around to replacing them --- no cyano in my fuge, because I didn't have the excess nutrients that it requires.
