Hey steve68,
I have a 112g tank I'm thinking of doing the same with.
Any words of advice?
Things you would have done deferent?
Would you do the overflow differently?

Nammy i would have done nothing different i made the tank so you could see all 3 sides well maybe there is one thing i would do different i would do it on a biger tank
if u are going to make a slot like i did just make sure the slot does not come to an "L" shape on the corners because it will eventually crack make it so it comes to a curve on the corners.
other then that enjoy the time it takes to set it up.

I learned a ton from this thread and finally did some work of my own. I cut out a center brace on an AGA 90 and eurobraced, cut overflow slits, and made my own glass external overflow. I used the rotzip tool, and my only complaint was when cutting the 3/8 thick stuff with a small .125" diameter tool, it does dull them. I used a dremel, and if I were serious about doing some big time glass cutting, I would buy a rotozip tool, or got the .5" diamter rotozip tool and run it with a 3 hp router. Here are some pics:

I started a build thread showing the full build, so if you are interested see here:

I would like to do an external overflow on a tank. Would it be easier to cut slits like Rocketboy's tank or cut a whole chunk out like Steve's tank?
