Ok heres one for you, I'm thinking brittle star, but I only see one or 2 legs if it is. I also have several of these spread over my live rock, and they always come out from a hole in the rock. I have never seen more than one or 2 legs(shoots?) thats why it has me confused as to maybe not being a brittle star.

@guigui: Some keep them, others consider them a pest (like Pumping Xenia). I'd keep it and if it multiplies too much I'd use kalk paste to keep it in check.

It's a Stomatella snail - beneficial algae eaters.

It's probably a juvenile Morula anaxares, a kind of ergalataxine muricid. Some of their relatives feed on corals, some on other animals. They are all carnivorous.

New to saltwater tanks

Just started a 60 gal. Tank. Live rock 50lbs,sand 60lbs, sump with skimmer and Kessel lighting. Tank is 4 days old, all saltwater and live rocks came from my LFS.
I am waiting for the tank to cycle before adding anything but noticed some things popping out and not sure what I'm looking at.
Hope pictures are good enough. Thanks!

It sure looks like it. If you haven't already, you might want to give a couple Peppermint shrimp a try. GL

Thanks for the link. That's some good information on the Nudibranch. I may have to try them, if the peppermints don't work.

Curious about the green algae around the nem. Its not slimy like I'm used to GHA being, it's actually kind of stiff. Any ideas? Will turbo snails go after this stuff?

Thanks cloak! That link was perfect. Looking at the pics and descriptions, I think it may be a form of chaeto. I always thought it resembled chaeto but had only seen the clump type that floats in my fuge.

I guess it's just preference now if I want to keep it. I don't mind it too much but it's getting a little unruly. Anyone know of any critters that like to munch chaeto? Hermits, turbos, maybe an urchin?
