Small update today. Bit nervous about leaving my tank for two weeks. My sister has taken care of the tank on previous trips but nerve wrecking nonetheless. Anyhow me and a buddy realized that my problem with my SPS was my salt. We ordered a Milwaukee refractometer and calibrated it. My apex was reading 35 yet the refractometer read 40 :-( no bueno. My skimmer was not running full speed since a pump was not working correctly. Last night I had my return pump amd all the pumps on the left side of the aquarium. Today we ran everything through the Apex amd EB8s. I'm so happy to finally have everything on the Apex up and running completely. Once we get back we're gonna get this running the way it should. Gonna regain the sump. Got my acrylic boxes to hold the MM. I've had 700$ worth of MM in a bucket :-(.

My Salinity Probe never gives me an accurate reading with the APEX. My understanding is they are extremely sensitive to electrical noise. Mine either reads way high 55 or low 29 ish. I am always right at 1.025 to 1.026 with the digital refractometer from Milwaukee. Just my .02, I wouldn't trust the Apex reading.

Definitely a lesson learned. Thanks for the feedback. Worst part was it was me being lazy and taking for granted that the apex was on point. Where it is there must be a lot of electronic noise. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

man amazing work with all the fish you got going in! and the anemones!
I just started putting in fish.. got 5 fully QT in now hahaha.. fail.. how thick is your acrylic? I'm having trouble finding magnetic clips that work on 1" glass.. nothing can hold nori sheets beside suction cups.

Man 1 inch is tough. My glass is 3/4. I use the TLF amd I put three of them and make a burrito of sorts. I stuff the Nori with flame , pellets, frozen food, Live blk wlrms, and On and on. Between the three they do a great job of keeping it together and hold together. You got an extra 1/4 glass extra though. Thx and look forward to getting the 220 up and running soon. Hey guys just got back from vacation and figured it had been awhile since I last posted. All in all I think the tank did ok. Had some temp fluctuations due to the Nest going eco daily. Anyhow here are some pics

I have worked out different ways to ensure that my idil eats more than just Nori. I first made the equivalent of a nori burrito rolled up with pellets, more Nori, flakes, frozen cubes at times to see if he picks at it. He does but it's not consistent and he focuses on the nori. I purchased these TLF pouches that hang off a magnet. I place chunks of my homemade frozen food and he is picking up meaty stuffs from the water column. Can't wait for the live blk worms to arrive next week. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

Any update on the refugium and the acrylic boxes for the mud. Sounds like a good way to contain the mud and make it easier to change. Did you also end up using the ceramic blocks in the sump too?

What's up guys? Well I hate to say it but ecotech has really let me down. Both Vectra L1 broke down one at a time. No reply from ecotech. My buddy is trying to get everything resolved. 9 months of service time between two L1 pumps? Anyhow I ordered a 8500 gph reeflo tiger shark external pump to handle the job of two Vectras and change. Had no choice but to buy a third Vectra as no one could get me the pump in time. Honestly I thought ecotech products would be more dependable. Prior to this I had to exchange a Radion amd replace the Vortech MP 60 power supply. Neptunes one link crapped out on me as well.
