Bleached Torch coral question

I had a question. Received a two head torch coral from a buddy. One of the heads is bleached and the other is beautiful looking. my question is, if the bleached head does not make it, will that effect the good head? I have no idea why it bleached on him. I will try my best to cure it, but just in case, will one head effect the other? or will it just die, and hopefully grow more good heads?
