Ready to get back into the hobby after a year with a 90g rr tank

I have ben out of the hobby for about a year. I had a 55g and then a biocube hqi 29g tank. Never did like the biocube. I think of getting a 90g rr tank. And installing it in the wall. Was wondering what r some of the options to do a completed tank on a budget. Looking to buy a t-5 light or led. Always had mh lighting. Also my use reefmud instead of a skimmer in the sump. I will have a simple refiguim. Any idead or comments would help

Lighting depends on what you want to keep in the tank. I have a 90G and just started a 65G. I am running metal halides on the 90G although I may change that over to T5 soon. I am running T5 on the 65G and I really like the color, lower power load, and the lights have the timer built in and run on one plug!!! I have the AquaticLife T5. I have heard mixed reviews on the reef mud stuff. I run a standard sump with a good skimmer and that is pretty maintenance free. Depending on the size of the sump you buy I have found a couple of good skimmer options. I run a Vertex-100 on my 90G and an ASM Mini-G on my 65G. Both run really well, but the Vertex is a much bigger foot print. I also run a TLF-150 phosban reactor in each tank. I am going to run BP Biopellets in each tank beginning this weekend to help keep phosphates, nitrates, and the interminable cyano in check. I hope this helps. Wouldn't have it any other way.

I got a Marineland RR 90...I spent weeks here on RC researching, asking, reading...I'd say my tank is "almost" on Auto-pilot, looks pretty good and I do very little maintenence... Hope this helps

Basically the controller is at the heart, monitoring temp & pH and running the ATO, heaters, cooling fans, and dosers ...because the water level stays the same I never have to "tune" the skimmer...ALK and CA stay spot on with lil tweeking.... a biopellet reactor plus a dual carbon/GFO has phosphate & nitrate in check ...temps swing very little (whether thats actually even beneficial is argumenative)
