So things are doing well. Some algae but not a so much I hate the tank. I had to move all the mushrooms I could to shaded areas they don't like my light. Thinking it is time for something besides my mushrooms. I have a flame torch, a couple zoe( I dont like them.) a small hammer (dont like it) I have a finger leather I like it and a leather cabbage this is not growing. So researching something easy that well like more light then the mushrooms.

Some easy, light loving LPS corals.......

Candy Cane coral, plating montipora, duncan, any gorgonian(as long as its not an NPS gorgonian), frogspawn, hammer(there are several types), torch, any type of zoa(from my experience the more color, the more they like the light), gonipora(although some are hardier then others).... bout all I can think of right now.

If you don't like those corals, why did you purchase them? Are you more of a softie person then an LPS(you mentioned you like the leather) person? You could try some GSP(green star polyps), blueberry star polyps, pulsing Xenia, or any other type of softie. Just keep in mind, all those I just named are considered nuisance corals and need a regular trimming to keep in check.

I've heard lettuce nudibranch or small blue leg hermits are good for hair algae

I liked the colors but other then that not impressed is why I bought them. I ordered some more soft corals. I do seem to like them best. I really want something that well grow and give less space for the algae to go. lol I was also sort of hoping the clown fish might take to the hammer. But it is kind of small maybe they well when it it bigger.

I got a fuzzy leather and some more cloves. They are different colors then the one I already have in the tank.

The fuzzy leather jumped off its frag and I have no idea where it went.
I ordered a couple more soft corals. Should be here next week.

Decided not to order more coral. I need what I have to grow. I would like another crab or two and one more fish. Gloves not spreading, hammer not getting any bigger, cabbage not doing anything. Had to hide/shade all my mushrooms cause of to much light. Thinking of lowing the light back down and concentrating on my mushrooms.

Yep going for mushrooms. If my other stuff adjust to lower light that is fine but the tank is going to be about mushrooms.

Well four of them are not the color they were when I ordered them. But maybe they need some more time to accumulate.

Color is totally situational. Not only do corals need to acclimate but your tank parameters and lighting will play a MASSIVE role in color.

IE my acans under my lighting look incredible but under stock PC lighting would look bland and terrible. Just the way it is.

Some have bar tabs. I have a coral tab at my LFS. Life goals.

Lights and water parameters will greatly affect coral colors.

I have a couple heads of acans that were green and red in my LFS's tank, now after 4 months in mine, have turned to a bright vibrant yellow and red. Sometimes you win, sometimes you lose when it comes to coral colors.

Ahh ok several of my corals are looking much better since I lowered the light output. So going to keep it low. Even my hammer looks better it is finally extending. But I know I might lose it. I really prefer my solf corals anyways. Im just a mushroom girl. lol

Are you still running the superlux LEDs at 30%? 30% on any LEDs shouldn't be too bad, but I'm glad turning the lights down helped your corals. They do look a little washed out (though I wouldn't call them bleached yet).

Lighting and water chemistry can change colors drastically, as Homer mentioned. I have some acros that are/were supposed to be nice but don't look anything like what they do in other people's tanks or as the vendor showed them. That second point is why lineage is so important in the hobby.

These had turned white. They are getting some color back. I also started spot feeding something I have not done much of cause I am so afraid of hair algae. Even my Duncan had turned almost all white.
Daylight time is down to 6 hours at 10%. Seeing some really good results now.

Have you looked in on the corallimorpharians(mushrooms) section of the forums?

Yes. Is there something special I needed to look at on that forum?

Nothing in particular. It's just some people never look at the other sections, and just thought I would mention there is a mushroom specific section since you have an affinity for them.

Ahhh ya I go there from time to time to see if anything new is posted. I also check out anything on inverts cause at some point I want to try shrimp again. So far I have killed two. I also keep up with the new to the hobby area cause I still think I am very new at this. Only been at this for 15 months.

Seems the sencor on the ATO is not working. Even it I take it completely out of the tank it still reads max. lol Going to see if I can exchange it. Only have it little over a week. If I can't what do you all use? The one I bought was the hydro smart sensor.
On a side note. A coral just showed up on one of my dry rocks. Not sure what it is and s till to small for me to get good pictures. I am thinking some kind of leather right now. But it is not like my finger leather. Same color almost but no fingers.

I like the Tunze ATOs, either the nano or the full-size one. A lot of people really like the aqua smart ATO, however we've seen at least one that has failed recently around here, and after years and years I still don't think I've heard of a failure with a Tunze ATO.

Free coral, neato! Take pics when it is big enough. Or buy a bigger camera and lens! I can see the smiley face of each polyp on my acroporas now
