Probably feels safe with him overhead. What better protection is there. Although, live by the sword.....

So have any of you had a problem losing fish to these guys?
Would like to try them with a small group of ventralis anthias in a shallow 3 x 2. The anthias chase food in the water column...guess I am trying to find out how likely it would be that one would land in the nem during all the excitement???? Finally, a number of you have said the anemone, when open, is about 8".... is that the maximum length of the tentacles or is that the diameter of the crown? thanks for your time! Agree with slapshot. I now have 6 of them in a garden, and never seen a fish get eaten or caught. If a fish swims into it, they get stung and swim away...like a bee sting for us. They wont eat fish. And the tenacles are that long, not the crown. Super hardy creatures that are very colorful.

Hen, how's that blue one of yours doing? Your garden inspires me. I need a blue one now to complete my garden:

That blue one is just awesome. I am still considering getting one of these, just picked a tall tank and thinking about how nice it would be for one.

I bot one yesterday and buried it’s foot it in the sand. It worked it’s way out I thought it was going to move. Went to bed and it was still the same spot this morning. do they move much? Will it probably bury itself again in the sand?

They do not move like a regular anemone. They will stay where you put them unless the water quality is so bad they shed their tube. But that’s water that even fish can’t survive in. Put it where you want and enjoy.
