The Blue Lagoon
Hello there!
I'm Jay from Lake Macquarie in Australia. I have only been into reef keeping for 2-3 years but can admit that I am an addict! My previous tank was a Custom 2x1.5ft nano that was a mixed reef. I tried a few different methods over the 2 or so years of its life and have come to love the simplicity of bioplastics :-) I have taken the learnings from this tank as well as lots of guidance from a few good friends to my new set up. Here's some details of the system; 800x800x500mm with cal flo style weir (which I don't really like) 1000mm high steel stand with painted wood panels held on with magnets Simple two section sump with inbuilt ato reservoir Royal Exclusive DC150 for skimming Teco TC20 takes care of temps and UV when required Bubble Magus Biopellet Reactor Jebao Dc12000 return pump pushing through the teco 2 x Jebao RW15 on alternating pulse Giesemann Infinity 250w + 4x24w Dosing Fauna Marin Balling Recipe with thur trace elements Dosing Prodibio bioptim and Biodigest I started the tank with dried and cleaned rock with a little love rock in the sump to kick start it along |

Looking very nice. I really like your coral placement and giving good space to the corals.

Some photos from yesterday.
Came out a bit over saturated from iPhone for some reason. Will get the real camera out once the Cyano clears

I have the tank on track again after a 4 day power outage a couple of weeks ago.
Lost a lot of colour. But no casualties at least. This is what I am doing if anyone is interested.

Very nice aquascape and corals. Sorry to hear that your tank suffered a four-day power outage but good surprise that they made it.
Post more, please.

Looking great matey. Love how everything looks so aesthetically pleasing.
I also like how the pumps are on the back glass and not obstructing the side panes. |
