Refugium Light

So on my new in wall 180 build its time to get this light nailed down.

Couple thoughts/questions.

I have two AI Sol Blues I was going to trade in on my 3 new hydra 52's I am buying. Being that I am only getting $150 each for trade in would I be better off just keeping one of them and mounting it for my refugium light?

Second thought is my son has the AI nano on his 30 Innovative marine tanks Should I take his nano and use it for my refugium and give him the AI SOL Blue?

This leaves me with one AI SOl to trade in on my 3 new hydra 52's

What are yalls thoughts on this? What would you do in this situation?

If you are looking for a good refugium light, I use these bulbs I found at Lowes for $28.

Sorry I still don't see where you said you have the Lowes led bulb already.
All I see is you have some nice AI SOL's that you might use for trade-in or use over a refugium.
The reason I pointed out the cheaper Lowes bulb is because I think you would get better value using all of them for trade-in.

IMO the AI Sol would be overkill for the refuge and you would be better off trading/selling them. You only need minimal lighting for the refuge and the AI's would add to the power bill unnecessarily.

Yeah, it's pretty cut and dry, IMO. The only benefit to using a Sol is that you already have one. If that convenience is worth a more expensive energy bill and losing out on $150 trade value, then go for it. I'd trade it in if it were me.

you can get upgrade kits for the ai sols, that's what's great about them. you can keep the housing and get the kits for any other lights they make. it would be a lot cheaper

These are the lights I use on my refugium and they grow chaeto and mangroves like crazy. 10W Cool White (6000-6500K) LED flood light. They are IP65 water resistant and suitable for outdoor use which makes them great for our applications. They also put out a LOT of light. I ordered them from a different supplier for $10 each but this supplier happens to be local and I can't find the original source I got them from.

Here is an alternate source that is less. You do need to add a power plug to the end of the light. A standard 110v screw on plug from the hardware store or a cut extension cord with splice connectors works great.
