Was trying to create a bonzai system, how ever i ended up with this instead:
at least it can hold a lot of sps corals.... but i am pretty happy with the result, even though it could have ben more "light"... |

IDK if this helps but i have a square piece of Styrofoam that is about a 1/8 inch thick. I do not have a BB but it looked good for the second before i added sand.

Your tank looks great, crazy. Can I ask what type of rock you're using? I'd like to get some more flat rocks like that, any suggestions?

I guess I'll share with you my bonsai tree inspired aquascape as well.
The rockwork is made up of 3 sections, a bonsai tree shaped rockwork to the left and to the right, then a small platform rockwork in the middle, there is about 1.5" space between the platform and sandbed. This is a few pieces of dead rock I used, since I was upgrading from a 25g nano tank, there're live rocks with SPS encrusted on them already, so these were used to form the base of the aquascape: I've placed tabling acro's on the bonsai tree rockworks hoping that in time they'll grow outwards to complete the picture. A closer shot to the left bonsai tree rockwork: |

hello Crazy4acros,
Your tank is one of the most creative aquascaping ideas iv seen...its amazing your thought and vision and it really shows and ur tank has matured into one great unit... I am currently doing my DIY build and finished my aquascaping....iv gone for the open shallow lagoon kind of look for my aquascape..with a "tripod" rock scape at the middle , on which im planning to get a whorl of SPS corals to grow out... Your tank has been an inspiration.... It would be great if you culd visist my build thread (its just started) and give ur suggestions and tips http://www.reefcentral.com/forums/sh....php?t=2022954 just posting a preview pic for all..... welcoming suggesstions, ideas from all on my humble build thread wishing the best of luck to ya and to all fellow reefers... TC
