How do I move this carpet anemone
I’m moving my 75 gallon into a 30 gallon, I had a few fish in there but the carpet anemone ate them all except the clownfish pair and the damsels pair which the carpet also hosts.
My issue is that the male clown, every time I do some work on the tank and stick my hands in the water; he goes into the anemones mouth. The first time it happened I thought he got eaten, but after a while he came out. I’m worried if I stress the anemone when I try to detach it, something will happen to the male. Any suggestions? |

I can try, but it seems really hard. He hangs very close to its host (6inches away)
That would be my last resort. Checking to see if anyone had this happen and if they did it differently. |

Perhaps at night, try to cover the nem with a clear container. First thing comes to mind is a glass cake plate cover. A glass bowl should work but might be harder because it does not have a handle. Then you can catch the fish when he bangs his head on the glass.

He will sit inside the mouth for the move most likely.

Mine clowns stayed with the nem as it was being moved, but dropped off when nem pulled from water.
