I'm noticing very long extensions on some of my corals, even Zoa at the very top are reaching out for light. The lighting fixture I have fro coralife will not lower any more than 20-21 inches away from the water. I have plans for a new light and hanging from celling or wall. Also the coral life HQi is a 150w MH 14k. I'm looking at a 250w MH 20,000k with 50/50 compacts and blue leds. All of the lights of their own source of power so I can adjust them as to dawn dusk and moonlight along with 100% photo period time.

I am also concerned about lighting in my nano, but i am sticking with the stock 10k bulbs. I got replacements on the way and hopefully will start my build this weekend...

Your frags look pretty good.

Wonder if my coralife light would work for your tank?

This is what i am going to use:

CORALIFE 24W 10K STRAIGHT PIN PC BULB

I messed up the order and only got one and the tank hood has two slots for bulds and i see Coralife offers a couple different bulbs for the tank but i don't know what the differences are and if they are beneficial or not for a reef tank.

CORALIFE 24W 50/50 STRAIGHT PIN PC BULB
CORALIFE 24W ACTINIC STRAIGHT PIN PC BULB

I was going to say I will have my 150w MH Coralife light for sale when I get my new one and it will go pretty cheap. You can see it on my tank in some of the pictures above.

I checked Cal and Alk yesterday along with NO3. All are still really high and the weird thing is CAL jumped up and I havent added anything to the tank or in it.

I bought the Matrix media to see if it will help on the NO3 issues. Some people I see use it in phosban reator so I will just add it and see what happens this weekend.

Do you get a lot of water splash or any with that tank. The tank looks great. I know DAS makes good tanks.

Do you know where the tank was purchased? I think you said you bought it from a friend. Do you know if he bought it local to Tampa Bay area?

Great looking Pics!!!

No water splash unless snails on waterfall the trickle of water off their cones. You cant buy the tank anymore they offer a neo storm now but pricey. Check out cadlights my buddy is a dealer for them I can see if he can work a discount. Added a new sand sifter goby today.
