Inside thread on the BH.

The outside thread is only for the nut to tighten the BH. It's not the same thread as all other plumbing.

Be careful and DON'T over tighten. It will split the BH!!

See https://youtu.be/Auyhm7YKQEI for the proper technique.

Thanks, I figured this was the case but nobody had specifically told me.

One of those is your main with the valve on the pipe to control flow. This one can be just a straight pipe about half way up in the overflow box. No need to have he 90 pointed down. The 2nd should be a durso style as backup and a slow trickle 3-5" above the main so your are not creating a vortex and sucking in air . The 3rd is supposed to be a wide open emergency pipe. No need to have the 90 on the emergency pipe. Just straight up well above the water line. This will give you more space also for the holes also so they are not that close together.

I would also add some kind of grate or mesh just in case you get a snail or crab in there that crawls through your overflow teeth and decides to hang out in your overflow box.
I will get rid of the T on the emergency standpipe. Saves me some money. The down turned elbows end up being 1/4" above the bottom of the glass. I was going to cut some slits in the end of them. I will raise the durso style one up with a spacer.

This glass box is heavy.

I hope the silicone will hold it.

That's all the progress I'm going to make tonight.

I think its preference but I could be wrong... as for me.. I set my bulkheads up according to flow direction... meaning the sections of bulkheads or piping are always inside the next section in the flow chain

Update pictures...
Tank is on the stand

My friends helped lift so they had some fun with it.
Next step is cleaning it up and doing another soffit above the tank.

Testing my bottom seal. It has not leaked. I was a little worried about my silicone job around the old holes from the internal overflow I cut out.

I also painted some of the stand white but I didn't get a good picture of that.

In other good news scubareefman found me the used kessils I was looking for. They popped up at a lfs and I braved the snow to grab them.

I also found a SRO5000 int for a deal I couldn't pass up. Skimmer and lights are taken care of now. It feels like a weight lifted off my chest to have those ready to go.

Idk the proper way to shim up the tank and stand but I bet this isn't the way most people do it. I will say it worked out great.

Cut some plastic coated board for the bottom of the stand. I think it makes the stand look better. I will end up sealing it with something this week.

Nice, I did the same with 1/16" white ABS. Quite cheap too.

Made some more progress today

Put a rim around the bottom.

Sealed it to contain any spills.

Then I did some more framing. Far from done though.

Messed around with lighting. I had this idea to use an old drying rack above the tank so I could move the lights out of the way when I need to. I will put something more than just the pull string on it to keep it above the tank if the pull string failed.

Yeah I have decided I like it a lot. It will even have room for t5 on each side of the kessils. I need to find a way to make all the cords retractable though.
