80 Gallon Deep Blue Build (48x24x16)

This one might take a bit as I am awaiting a basement renovation to be completed, however, I did get started on the tank tonight.

Nice, sounds like my situation (long drawn out build while I renovate the house lol). What did you do to the tank? Is it replacing an existing dt?

I did have a 65 Gallon back in the day (before children and wife) and now I am getting back in the hobby now that I have children and they are old enough to appreciate it.

I will have the tank backing on to the laundry room and the sump and water station will be in behind the wall. Hence waiting for the basement to be finished.

I will still be collecting more equipment as we go along and doing what I can to prepare. I will be hooking up the RO/DI unit above the laundry sink later this week or early next week.

Ha! I'm 6 months so far on my 150 gallon upgrade build. I have been redoing all the floors and have the carpet coming next week. One nice thing is there is no rush so you can plan and replan as needed. And I was able to save more and buy what I really wanted this time. Good luck

Taking my time is key. The last time I rushed in and didn't even use a sump.

How will you plan out the plumbing? By hand, CAD program, or just wing it?

I am going to build the stand and cut an access hole behind the DT to the laundry room where the sump will be on the floor. I don't see it being that complex. (Maybe I am wrong but we will see)lol

I will have a manifold installed from the beginning for extras if needed.
