somewhere along here I read a question about too much flow for fish, well I built a canyon in my standard 180 and have 3kgph pump blowing out the canyon (cool way to hide a 6100) point being I have seen my sohal and purple swim straight into the canyon, fish can handle a lot of flow

Water flow question: I have a 54g corner bow tank with SPS, LPS and Zoa. I have about 475gph from my return, a Hydor Koralia 3, and a Hydor Koralia 1.
Question 1: Is this enough, too much or not enough for SPS? Question 2: Where would you position these for maximum coverage? Question 3: How does this compare to an MP10 or MP40 for my tank? Your comments are welcome. Wayne

My setup is a 5ft 100 gallon. I have koralia wavemaker 2 with 2 k4's and 2 coralvue 1300 gph powerheads. I'm keeping mainly sps with zoas and very few fleashy lps mainly brains.

Two Magnum 8's and two Koralia 4's in my 135g tank. Purchased them all new (on sale) for half the cost of one MP40w.
I love when people go on and on about how great VorTech's are and how they're so much better because there are no powercords in the tank. The way I see it, if you (or others) are fixated on 3 inches of cord at the top of your tank, the tank itself must not be very appealing. ------------------------------- 135g 002.jpg 135g 003.jpg Last edited by pbnj; 09/02/2011 at 11:14 PM. |
