I wasn’t planning on dosing Nopox still. Would it be better if I would just dose vinager?
I will be putting 1.5 tsp of kalk per gallon |

Alk is high for dosing. Just below 8 would be better. Maybe a little less kalk next time you mix a batch?
Cheers! Mark

Bertoni-
Should I still dose Nopox? Or should I just stick with vinager? Sticking with one would be easiest, but if there is a benifit I could still dose Nopox |

I think dosing just the vinegar should be fine.

I would dose phosphate and observe the tank for a couple weeks. I like to run higher nutrients because the corals seem to do so much better. I wouldn't worry about the redfield ratio just trust your own observations. Remember to make slow changes overtime and don't try to over manage the tank.

How much kalkwasser are you adding to the tank per day?

I was doing around 1/2 tsp a day. Now I am am going to try 1/3 tsp per day.
I am going to try and get down to at least 8.5. If I get down tot hat level I will try it out for a month or so. It’s weird but my soft corals are doing great but my frogspawn is still alive but it still looks mad. It is not letting any of its tentacles out. I don’t know what else to contribute it to besides high nitrates. I have checked a lot of things: Salinity: 35 ( I have a refractometer and I always calibrate it with 35 solution before every use) Copper: 0 PO4 has been anywhere from 0-.05 with a Hannah checker Calcium: 440 Mag: 1500 KH: 9.5. I will check today and see where I am at NO3: it’s been anywhere from 30-50 over the past few months. I will check this today as well. The salifert test kit is hard to get an accurate reading. 25 and 50 are very close in color. Tank temp is 76.5 at the moment. I was around 78.5 before I upgraded to the 29 gallon. I just wanted to see if that would make a difference. I do use distilled water but I have never got a reading over 0 and I have tested the water for nitrates and phosphates and I always get 0 as well. |

Yep.
Tomorrow will be my third day. I will up the dose tomorrow. I hope I start seeing some positive results here in within the next month. My nitrates are still around 30-50. I know it is to soon for the vinegar to take affect. The good news is there is no cyano! Thanks for your help! |

I'm glad to hear that the cyanobacteria is gone. Please let us know how the nitrate levels respond to the dosing!
