Brittle star care

So I have a bottomless tank right now, and I'd like to get some brittle/serpent sea stars. Do I need a sand bed? Yes or No? I have 40 pounds of live rock.

I have a bare bottom and I have thousands! They will live in your live rock, under rocks, coral, under coralline thatís lifted upwards, and in your overflow or sump. No need to be concerned. They will come

I have a 4 tank system plumbed together and one of the tanks houses 3 huge (over 14 inches) Serpent Stars. The tank is bare bottom and they are doing great.
Cheers! Mark
