Why doesn't my skimmer produce foam?

Could this have anything to do with it?

(in case you don't know what the pic is, that is the venturi intake on the sedra pump that runs the skimmer) It was a perfect seal, the insides of the snail were sucked dry, the pump screaming. I have no idea how this giant turbo got to the sump. My drain intake is 2in PVC with a bunch of holes drilled to prevent such a journey.

Sorry about the yucky sump glass.

I hope that never happens to me, I have gutter guards going to the intake of my sump and the strainers on the pumps do almost the same thing on the pumps themselves for both skimmers

That'll do it! I used to keep hermits in the sump to clean up crud, until I suspected something like this might happen and took them out.

Misguided attempt at escape. You've been babysitting your tank with the Nemo DVD, I bet.

I'm not a Hydrologist, but that looks to be a potential flow inhibitor.

Just a wild guess.

Flippin snails. Bannished to the sump and they are still causing mayhem and madness !
