Although I highly doubt the manufacturers claims of curing or guarding against ich, I would assume its a one time dose that last for 21 days.

It is a 1 time dose. But it is essential that there is no light on in the tank. It
Is degraded by uv light. Also, you will have to replace the amount of meds that you take out with water changes. There is no way to test chloroquine phosphate levels so you have to measure very accurately the first time. Are you using it as a qt protocol or for treatment?

Is this the powder or the pellet food? Remove all snails from your display tank. They will die. I hope you don't have corals as they won't survive and neither will any algae. You will have to turn your skimmer off and keep your lights off for the entire treatment period, in which case should be 30 days not 21 for ick

I am thinking i will NOT be putting this in my tank. Sounds like removing all the fish to a qt tank and Treating or using the transfer method and keeping the tank fishless for a while

If you follow those instructions, then you will absolutely kill your fish. Don't dose
Everyday. Post in fish disease forum

Resurrecting this.

1 dose on day 1. No more doses.

It's 1 scoop per 20 gallons, or 1/2 scoop for 10 gallons.

Replace the powder if you do a water change, and MIX IT INTO THE CHANGE WATER.

1/2 scoop per 10 gallons. There is a line in the scoop showing the 1/2 scoop line.

So did it work?

I read about CQ years ago in the Disease Forum. It sounded like an excellent alternative to Cupramine & other mess & tank transfer. It seemed hard to find and rarely hear anything about it. All accounts seemed to indicate it was highly effective.

Very interesting to see it available in an easy to get product. Can anybody out there give us first hand accounts or other info on CQ use? What other diseases besides marine Ich is it useful for? Good for prophylactic use?

I use this as my primary prophylactic QT treatment. It seems to kill external parasites, like ich, velvet and flukes.

I follow up with 1 or 2 prazi pro treatments.

It seems to work well.

If the Ick Shield works to get rid of flukes, etc. - why use the Prazi after?

Isn't chloroquine phosphate the treatment that caused a disaster in one of the big city aquariums? I may be mistaken. Usually these ich-cures are tea tree oil or something fairly benign but useless; this one---may be worth a little caution.
