first time nem
hello,
So after seeing a thread with various nem species pics and some research I have decided I would like one. The tank I have is 80 gallons. Its 4' x 20" x 20" and I have 4 T5s running about 2" above the water. As for life I have a small CUC, 2 percs I beleive to be false, coco worm, pulsing xenia, 6 head dendro colony and crocea clam (3-4"), and a frog spawn (7" when open) I plan to keep mostly LPS and softies as far as coral goes. I plan to add more fish down the road but havent decided on what yet so Im in no rush. Because I would like more corals I would prefer a nem that doesnt tend to move as much as a BTA may move. I have been looking at maybe a sand dwelling species as the previous owner of the tank said he could keep them on the sand bed with the same light setup. I realize this limits me to an LTA or a Haddoni (sp). I knw they both tend to get large and the haddoni can be fish eaters. My question is which would you recomend or is there a better choice? Thank you for taking the time to read everything

How many watts are each of your T-5 Bulbs? Also how deep is your sandbed, and how is your water quality looking? Since you want a sand dwelling anemone I would go with a purple LTA if I were in your position.

thanks for the responses. The sand bed is about 2" deep so I will have to add more when I am ready for the nem. I have 1 bulb that is 16K and the other is 6.5K, the other 2 are actanic, this is the setup the guy before me used so I am by no means set on this setup. As for water quality it seems pretty stable. I will have to test again to get numbers for you. What are important parameters to moniter for a nem? The tank has been cycled since mid february. I was going to wait until about the 1 year mark before adding a nem but by then I will have more corals and therefore more coral for it to damage if it moves. Whereas right now there is very little coral for it to get close to and nothing on the sand.
One more question, I have a cocoworm, if the nem touches the hard shell will that bother the worm? Thanks for all your help.
