Need a new skimmer, looking for recommendations.
I just moved my tank to a new home and have decided that it is time to replace the skimmer. I currently have a Bubble Magus NAC 3.5 that has served me well, but ha a lot of issues. I purchased the skimmer used and it looks to have been repaired a number of times and has several leaks. I also HATE that I can not take it apart to really clean it well.
The tank is a 40b with 20g sump and fairly heavy bioload. I am looking at 3 skimmers, but I am not sure which to get. They are: 1.) Bubble Magus Curve 5 - I have read a lot of good things about it, but I would like a DC and/or external pump. 2.) Simplicity 120DC - I have seen mixed reviews on this one, but it has a DC controllable pump. 3.) Reef Octopus Classic 110-INT - Tried and true, with an external pump, but it has been around a LONG time and has an AC pump. What are your thoughts on these skimmers? Any other suggestions are welcome.

I have a Simplicity skimmer and they are nice, work great, I think with all three choices you cannot go wrong.

I finally picked up a new skimmer and went with the Bubble Magus Curve 5 Elite. I found it at a LFS for a pretty good price. I originally went in planning on the standard Curve 5 but opted for the new design with Sicce pump for an extra $25.

Just picked up the elite series. Great skimmer at a decent price, with an awesome motor block. Sent from my SM-G955U using Tapatalk
