Question Corals being eaten alive

hey, a couple off weeks ago i bought a coral from my lfs. He said it was a green brain coral. It was going very well up until 3 days ago. Three days ago i upgraded my tank and had to move all the corals and noticed that half of the brain coral has been eaten away from the back. There was a snail on it which disapeared into a hole in the coral (!!!). Eversince i have been trying to catch the snail with no success. Is there any way i can remove it??? Like a freshwater dip?? Yesterday i also noticed my sunflower coral also being slightly "eaten" My parameters are fine, so are my other corals.

Any shrimp in the system? I've seen pictures of a boring invert that causes some irritation on LPS, but doesn't actually harm the coral other than irritating it. A picture and list of your parameters would probably help quite a bit.

Maybe it's not being eaten so much as receding? Recession after acquisition is not uncommon.

Or it could indeed be being eaten by a coralivore. When I broke down the 36 gallon reef last week, I was shocked to find two egg cowries in the Live Sand. That explains some of my losses. Not all, but some!
