I'm out

Goodbye SoCal Reefers.

It's been a while coming but I'm finally on my way out of California. I was born and raised here, in fact I'm a 6th generation Californian but I'm out. As much as I've loved SoCal the choice to leave was a no brainer given the horrible business climate here for my type of business. As many here know I sold off my big tank and moved my business out of state.

Thank you to all those who shared my passion for reefing here. Best of luck to all my fellow SoCal Reefers. It's been real, it's been fun, sometimes it wasn't real fun... but that's cool

I'll still be around RC, just adopting (trolling) a new club.

I don't think we have ever met. But good luck wherever you land and build up your business again. Enjoy being outta Cali.

I think I remember you when you still had the stewie picture. I might have even gotten some frags from you many many years ago. Lots of great reef stuff in Florida. Good luck with the move.

Hey, do you do aftermarket parts or factory?

Enjoy your new home.
Nope, I manufacture intake parts mostly for carburetors and C.A.R.B. (California Air Resource Board, nothing to do with "carburetors") find it necessary to regulate aftermarket parts differently than all other 49 states. Those in chrome plating were forced out a few years ago, then they went after anyone who sells any part for older vehicles that are not considered OE replacement parts. I make and sell various parts, but also stock parts from others that no longer will sell to companies in California out of fear of being sued by CARB.

Ken, I had no idea, I might have done business with you in the past or one of your vendors..
It's crazy how much the gun business and CARB are so very much a like. Wasn't it CARB that limited the common man to only one special construction per life time?

Ca is not friendly to ANY business. Taxes and "fees" are out of control for business and individuals. People are moving to the sun belt again. However a lot more are leaving Ca still. Good luck!
