Those are only .25 watt bulbs. Wonder what penetration you will get with them?

Question correct doseing

I have been out of the reef game for over ten years now and have forgotten how much and what i should be doesing my reef tank with and the amounts . can anyone help. I have the jbj 28g nap cf quad model 602 led. I have a hammer coral and star polyps at this time and feel there not doing as well as they could be. I have just been doing 10 percent water change weekly , that new reefers swear on and adding nothing. Im used to adding calcium, buffer iodine and other trace elements photo plankton. What should i be doing with my tank? Please help.

I'm in the same boat, been a while since I had a tank up and running with coral in it. I just got a second hand JBJ 29 LED and created a small aquascape and it is cycling now. There seems to be lots of great info in this thread, I'm excited about starting again. What do you think, how bad does it look?

Does anyone have a hood that they aren't using for the Jbj28? Lights or no lights does not matter but I would prefer no lights or broken lights. Trying to work on a project and don't want to cut up my working hood. Thanks!

I have a hood I am not using. I took it off and switch to radion g4. (Those LED Pros were not adjustable/too much...so now it sits in my closet..)

Oh man, just a bit too late. Just hacked up my working hood 2 days ago to install my new light. Crammed a Sb reef lights sprite light in there and I'm pretty happy with it so far.

My main 5 strip led lights in the MT-601 90W led hood is not working and I think it's the ballast. All strips are not working. Does anyone know if the ballast can be fixed or a fuse?

If not, is there a replacement to be had without going the rip-off JBJ company?

Searched the Google and found this.

https://www.marineandreef.com/JBJ_28...CABEgIBnfD_BwE

There may be cheaper companies but I didn't look further

Thanks I was really hoping to find out if its the ballast or the LED hood. Has anyone experienced this issue?

And if it's the ballast, anyway to repair or maybe cheaper ones.. Hoping not to pay close to $100.

I know my single leds would go out and I would fix them instead myself.

I have stock pumps running constant, 2 Koralia Nano 565 on 30 sec alt wavemaker, no skimmer, no UV. Tweaking the angle of your returns and circ pumps is key.

I've seen these. How do you like them? It's between this and an AI Prime HD for me.

Looks small, but easier to maintain for sure. Be creative. I use mostly base rock with some live rock mixed in to keep cost down and generally less parasites.

Sorry if this has been asked before, this is a long thread, but I am looking at the JBJ pro 89 LED version, are the LEDs dimmable? If not is that too much light/power for soft corals & nems?

They are not dimmable. Not sure about nems, but it will definitely run soft corals and some LPS. I had the intermediate version and it was fine with soft corals but fell short for any type of sps besides Monti caps.

LFS says the Pro version is too strong for softies, my plan is nems and zoas. Any one else
any experience with the Pro.

I have a pro jbj with nem softies sps etc. All growing fine with no problems.
Only issue is the LEDs will go out and if they do, you can replace them 1 led at a time. Takes some work but beats the JBJ crap charging $70 for a strip of 5 leds.

What is the rate of evaporation for the 28 gallon since its back filter isn't enclosed ( or covered) by the hood? Is an automatic top off system a necessity?

I'm torn between purchasing the JBJ 28 gallon WIFI LED or purchasing the JBJ 24 gallon DLX (PC lights) and retrofitting the hood with LED's.

Any thoughts?

I've been searching the forums to see if anyone had ideas for a Plexiglas lid for the BioCube. I don't like not having a lid, I've lost snails and fish that way. Just really wanted to see what other people had done. I'm tired of buying new bulbs every couple months and I have a couple extra LED lights I picked up that I could use.

Hello Schmidty76,

I use a glass panel from Home Depot (Plexiglass will work, too), cut to size, sand down fresh cut sides with sand paper. Get a set of 4 of those acrylic clips / glass cover support holders if your tank is rimless.

Glass Panel

Glass cover clips (cheapest price I've found)
https://rover.ebay.com/rover/0/0/0?m...2F252517473099

Handle if needed.

I'll post a photo of what I have on my nano soon. Hope this helps.
